課程概述

Composition 1 is a two semester course which prepares students to write compositions in their Sophomore year in Composition 2. This semester in Composition 1 class we will review, activate and polish all the English you have already learned before coming the NTU. In our class assignments you will be reminded of as well as learn more about how English grammar, vocabulary and mechanics help you become more sophisticated writers in English. We will focus on the expected organization of ideas and information in paragraphs written for academic purposes. Next semester the course will generally focus on writing strong paragraphs using different modes, culminating in writing a five paragraph essay. With this strong background in writing academic English paragraphs, you will have a strong foundation for the writing you will do in Composition 2.
